Printmaking

Printmaking began as a means of communication and was later used by artists to produce replicated works of art. Though prints may look similar, each print its considered its own unique work of art, this is because they are not identical. A print can be made unique by a number of factors including amount of ink, paper type, quality of material and imperfections in the ink, paper or block. Of course stylistic decisions such as changes to colors of the ink and paper or shape and edge finish of the paper can create a seemingly whole new work of art. I specialize in linocut relief prints which means I carve either soft rubber or linoleum mounted to a wood block. once the carving is complete, the block is inked and laid on paper to produce a print. My work is graphically inspired and often cheeky, you can view some of my very favorite prints below.
